Single Song Overdub Agreement
If you employ session players to work on your indie project, you can pay for their services using the AFM Single Song Overdub Agreement, provided you have previously recorded the project under either a Joint Venture Agreement or Limited Pressing Agreement.
Alternatively, if you are a session player you can have your work covered under this agreement in conjunction with either the Joint Venture or Limited Pressing agreements.Ā
Either way, your work is protected! If a signatory record label (i.e.: Warner Bros., Universal) picks up the project, they will need to file a contract using the AFM Sound Recording Labor Agreement. If a film and television production picks up your song, they will need to compensate you accordingly.
