Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada (MPFC)

Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada (MPFC)

Established in 1962 through collective bargaining between employers and the Canadian Federation of Musicians, the Musicians’ Pension Plan of Canada is designed to provide pension benefits to musicians and their beneficiaries. Employers contribute to the plan on behalf of musicians, and these funds are held in trust to ensure financial security in retirement.

To ensure your contributions are credited to your account, you must be ‘vested’ in the plan. Vesting typically requires consistent covered work, with at least four contracts (and no more than a six-month gap between them) within a consecutive two-year period.
By working under a TMA/AFM/CFM agreement, you can be confident that your engager or employer is contributing to your pension plan in addition to your basic scale fees.
