MusicFest Canada “The Nationals” unites thousands of students and educators nationwide for a week-long celebration of musical excellence. About the Denny Christianson Scholarship
DENNY CHRISTIANSON (1942-2021) was a dedicated musician and educator who spent his life nurturing the next generation of jazz talents. Over his 17 years with Humber College’s Bachelor of Music program, he was celebrated for his kindness, support, and generosity. He brought world-class artists to Humber, leaving a lasting impact on the college and the broader jazz community. Following in the footsteps of legends like Phil Nimmons, Guido Basso, Ranee Lee, and Oscar Peterson, Denny is recognized as one of Canada’s leading jazz educators. In 2020, he was nominated for the Order of Canada.
