Joint Venture Agreement
The AFM Joint Venture Agreement is designed for independent self-contained bands who want to document their recordings and business relationships as well as their intellectual property rights with a no-cost contract that protects everyone involved.
This is a legal document that outlines the internal financial arrangements between band members. It protects your work and outlines each band members contribution to determine their share of revenue expenses.
The agreement gives you and your band considerable flexibility in figuring out your own unique formula.
Criteria:
- All musicians are AFM members and on the date are self-producing or collaborating in self-production, not providing a service for hire, and are in creative control over material and the recording process;
- There is no employer; and
- The purpose of the recording is to produce a demo to obtain work for live performing and/or the purpose of the recording is to produce a product for sale and the proceeds from sales exclusively benefit band members.
