Arden Schofield

1962-2025

Arden Elizabeth Schofield, (Arden McManus) born April 21st, 1962 in Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on January 11th, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. Arden leaves behind her soulmate/husband Glenn of 43 beautiful years, Devoted mother of daughter Brianna and son, Spencer. Arden also leaves behind her sister Andra, (Michael, Raphael, Gabrielle) Jay, (Cindy). Arden was predeceased by her mother Maureen Glover in 2024 and her father Bernard McManus in 2012. Arden also leaves behind so many very close friends, extended family and colleagues from the music world.

Arden received her education at Humber College in the vocal department. Arden went on to start her own band ‘Arden and the Tourists’ in 1982, performing corporate functions, ski clubs, weddings and numerous other events and private parties. Arden also had the opportunity to sing the national anthem for the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Blue Jays. She was a devoted musician and in demand artist and had the opportunity to record her own CD ‘Sundance Café’ with her friend Mary-Lu Zahalan. She was often called upon to record commercials and sing with other bands such as ‘Against the Wind’ a Bob Segar Tribute Band and ‘Kim and Company”.

Arden was an avid skier and was a member at Alpine Ski Club since 1982. Arden and her step brother John Glover could be heard belting out tunes on the chair lift every weekend. People always remember Arden for her impeccable fashion sense garnered from her mother Maureen.

The loss of this beautiful soul is indescribable, but her legacy lives on in everything. From her love of performing to drinks at Après Ski, from her love of travel to her wonderfully eccentric personal style, and so so much more. Her memory lives on in all the little things, in all of us, in the stories we tell and the experiences we share.
Arden will be missed by family, friends and musicians alike. She wouldn’t want us to be sad, but to remember all the happy times and party it up for her with good music and even better company.

Arden’s Gift of Song Scholarship

Arden’s Gift of Song is a memorial scholarship dedicated to supporting vocalists pursuing their education at Humber College, where Arden thrived. This scholarship aims to honor Arden’s memory and legacy by enabling talented individuals to pursue their passion for music. To establish an endowed scholarship, we need to raise $35,000, a goal that might seem daunting at fi rst glance.

However, with the support of our community, we can achieve this together! Just 700 donations of $50 each would bring us to our goal, allowing Arden’s spirit to inspire future generations of musicians.
